FAQ

Wedding saxophone questions couples ask first

Everything below comes up in almost every enquiry. If your question is not here, send it over and Tom will answer it himself.

Booking and pricing

How far ahead should we book?

Dates can get booked up around eighteen months ahead, but it's always worth asking! It's best to get the date confirmed and in the diary as soon as you're ready.

What does it cost?

Set prices start from £400. See the Services page for more details. Tom quotes per event, based on your date, your venue and how long you need him. No hidden extras, and the figure you are quoted is the figure you pay.

Do you travel?

Tom travels, and all travel expenses are included in the number he quotes you. Destination weddings are also welcome!

On the day

Can you learn our song?

Yes! Tom can learn songs for you that are not on his current repertoire list. He will advise if he thinks a song is not suitable for the saxophone. In some cases it's best to play the original version. The number of songs he can learn for you will depend on how much notice you are able to give him. If this is after the original quote is made, it may incur an extra charge to reflect the time he would need to spend learning and practising your song.

Can you play over our DJ?

Yes. Tom plays live on top of the DJ set or his own tracks, out on the floor with the crowd rather than stuck on a stage. He can also run the whole set himself.

Will it work outdoors, in a church or in a barn?

All three. The reception kit is battery powered, so there are no cables across the grass. Tom is able to play at a lower volume to accommodate the acoustics of small rooms. Tom has three PAs of varying sizes to suit any size room.

How long do you play for?

The ceremony is usually up to 45 minutes including guest arrival. Drinks and dinner is usually two 45 minute sets, or three shorter ones. The Ibiza sax show is usually two 30 minute or three 20 minute sets across 2 or 3 hours. All timings can be adapted to your event. Between sets, Tom will put background music on to maintain the atmosphere.

The practical bits

Are you insured?

Tom has Public Liability Insurance and all equipment is PAT tested annually. Certificates are sent to the venue on request.

What do you need from the venue?

Very little. Tom brings his own PA and lighting if the venue has none. If Tom has any questions of the venue, he will contact them direct.

Can you play our first dance?

Yes, arranged live on saxophone if you want it.

Still have a question?

Send it over with your date and Tom will come back to you himself, usually the same day.
