The walk down the aisle is the music most couples think about first, and it is usually the easiest part to settle. Two pieces of music carry a ceremony: the entrance and the exit. There’s also the music for while your friends and family are waiting, and the music during the signing of the register.
The entrance wants something with a clear beginning. There are some popular classics such as Handel’s Arrival of the Queen of Sheba and Pachelbel’s Canon, but many couples will choose a song that has a special meaning to them.
The register signing is the longest stretch and the least predictable, this is usually eight to ten minutes while the paperwork is done and the photographs are taken. This is where you will need to have perhaps three or four songs to be played. You can of course choose these, or Tom will suggest some suitable pieces for you. If your register signing is done quickly and you haven’t heard all your songs, Tom can add these in to the drinks reception or wedding breakfast set.
The last piece to choose is of course your exit music. This is often something triumphant and joyous, and a piece that can set the mood for the rest of the day!
If there is a particular song or songs you would like Tom to learn, mention it early so that he can get working on them.
